Pursuant to Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978 amended, on Information technology, Files and Rights, the Website was the subject of a notification from the French Data Protection Authority (www.cnil.fr), under Number 667724.
Automatic processing of name-related data from the Web site "www.afnic.fr" was dealt with pursuant to the requirements of Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978 amended, on Information technology, Files and Rights.
Specifically, pursuant to Article 32 of Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978 amended, on Information technology, Files and Rights, user is notified that any information he/she submits via the Website's forms is needed so that his/her request can be answered; this information is sent to AFNIC, which is responsible for processing the data for administrative and business purposes.

Any total or partial reproduction of this Website by any person, without the express authorisation of AFNIC, is prohibited and constitutes an infringement penalised under Articles L. 335-2 et al of the Intellectual Property Code.
The same holds true for databases included on the Website and protected by provisions in the Law of the 1st of July, 1998, transposing into the Intellectual Property Code the directive of March 11, 1996, concerning legal protection of databases, and of which AFNIC is a producer.
The symbols representing AFNIC and its partners, as well as the logos appearing at the Website, are registered trade/service marks.
Therefore, any total or partial reproduction of these symbols or logos taken from elements within the Website, without the express authorisation of AFNIC, is prohibited under the Intellectual Property Code.
AFNIC shall not be held responsible for users' access, via hypertext links inserted into the Internet site's framework, that point to other resources existing on the network.
